Our CT scanner is a state of the art Siemens machine that provides an easy exam experience.

Computerized Tomography, commonly known as Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT scan), utilizes a combination of x-rays and a computer system to create detailed cross sectional images of the body. During a CT scan procedure, the patient lies on the table that slowly moves through the gantry while the x-ray tube rotates around the patient, shooting narrow x-ray beams throughout the anatomy being examined. A CT scan can be used to identify diseases or injury within the various organs of the body. Sometimes, a CT scan will require a contrast material for detailed evaluation of the structures in the body.  More commonly administered as IV and/or oral.

At CVMWI, we offer the SOMATOM Perspective, a multi-slice scanner designed for fast imaging and radiation reduction in a 64-slice configuration with a table weight capacity of 500 lbs.  It offers CARE Dose4D that provides an effective combination to reduce patient dose.  It allows fast imaging with radiation dose reduction for increased safety and comfort during the exam. Siemen’s ADMIRE (Advanced Modeled Iterative Reconstruction) sets a benchmark in iterative reconstruction.  Even with low dose scans, quality images can still be produced. At CVMWI, patients are always assured that we practice ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) and expect to be given the best experience for second best for us is not an option.
